I love the font (vastly superior to the current ugly mess), but dislike the way that an uppercase i is near impossible to distinguish from a lowercase L. Logical clarity should be essential for a computer user interface.

Hi There are only ttf and source files available from the github repository. But you can use fontsquirrel.com to roll your own font files for self hosting.

Hi, Google should be hosting the updates soon, i’m guessing it will be ‘weeks’ though. The delay is a pity because the updates were an improvement, and also a bunch of new ligatures and alterative characters were introduced. I am working on improvements to Pacifico at the moment (plus different weights!) so i will pay attention to the ‘ij’ in Dutch. Many thanks for that

I love Pacifico! And this update looks even better, but it doesn’t show up in Google Webfonts yet. Is that correct? I only see the ‘old’ version.

Second, I hope there have been some changes made towards the letter ‘j’. Since it doesn’t match so good in the Dutch letter combination ‘ij’ (which is commonly used and is actually an ‘y’ with dots). Is it possible to make a request for that?

I know and it got fixed. One of the aspects of ‘fonts on screen at small sizes’ is that ok letter spacing can go bad. Characters can so easilly snap ‘too close’, or ‘too far’, from neighbouring characters. And to make it worse, eg, an ‘r-n’ can snap ‘too close’ at 9pts and ‘too far’ at 10pts. Ends up being a job of designing letter spacing alongside letter shaping, to minimise these problems. Of course i can also hint the font across the horizontal, to preserve the letter spacing, but that would only solve the issue on some OS’s, sometimes. ‘f’, ‘t’, ‘i’, ‘l’ and ‘r’ seem to be the worst offenders, therefore standard ligatures can also help with some combinations.

Hmm, I like the way this font looks, but there’s some rather awkward letter-spacing in this example…

E.g., “Sys” (in “System”), “rno” (in “vernon”), “nfi” (in “infinity”), etc.
